Channel letters are custom-made, three-dimensional letters that are often used in exterior signage on commercial and public buildings. They are usually made of plastic or metal and can be illuminated. Channel letters are designed to be visible during the day and at night, and can add depth to a facade while providing a lasting branding method

 Flat cut letters are individual letters, logos, or shapes cut from a flat sheet of material.

 An enclosed illuminated structure that is attached to the wall of a building with the face of the sign approximately parallel to the wall showcasing the business name and or logo. 

 A pylon sign is a freestanding sign that is usually supported by one or two poles and is meant to be seen from a distance. They are often taller than the surrounding buildings and can be one- or two-sided. Pylon signs can be illuminated or backlit with LED or fluorescent lamps, but they can also be left without illumination 

 An awning or overhang is a secondary covering attached to the exterior wall of a building. It is typically composed of canvas woven of acrylic, cotton or polyester yarn, or vinyl laminated to polyester 

 An electronic message center (EMC) is a sign that is capable of displaying words, symbols, figures or images that can be electronically changed by remote or automatic means.
